Author Gary K Wolf

Below is a live streaming interview with Gary K. Wolf, Author of "Who Censored Roger Rabbit" which became the Disney feature film, "Who framed Roger Rabbit." 

Toon in to listen below, how the book was rejected by many publishers, before Roy Disney called and offered to buy his story and make it into a major movie picture.

  1. Many animation buffs know that most silent era cartoons were adapted from comic strips and retained the word balloons. Gary may have confused Herrimans Krazy Kat with Otto Messmers Felix because Krazy always spoke a poetic kind of Yiddish with strange spellings and lots of puns in print and on screen. Felix did get a voice when sound took hold.

  2. I think he was talking about Krazy Kat in a funeral scene which was cut from the film.

  3. @Animateducated Yes, I understood he was talking about a deleted scene. His description of the character was it never spoke on screen or in the comic strip so he may have meant Felix. It's no big deal and the scene was cut so we may never know. On the other hand, he mentioned a cut scene that DID turn up where Eddy Valiant was wearing the animated pig head!
