Chenglin Xie

Chenglin Xie is a native of China and recently graduated from USC in Los Angeles.

Here is a link to his website where you can see some of his animated films he has posted, including his 2017 Student Academy award winning film, "Life Smartphone".

Here is Chenglin's acceptance speech from the 2017 Student Academy Awards, where "Life Smartphone", won first place that year.

I contacted Chenglin a few weeks ago to see if he would like to be interviewed on Animateducated. At the time, he was busy finishing up his final film at USC. Below is a recent, short interview with Chenglin Xie talking about his work on the Animateducated channel on YouTube.

Here are a few other films that you can see on this website. All were produced using TV Paint software.

Father and Daughter

A daughter's animated journey through her success and failures through gymnastics and the Father who is always there for her.

Tiny Monster

A Tiny Monster is drawn onto a tablet by an artist who attempts to interact with it. The Monster draws weapons to threaten the artist, but then decides to "Make Love and not War". A fun modern use showing live action and animation in one piece.

More interviews on the way!

Aubry Mintz: Nothing to Say

When you first begin working on a film, the process is a journey that can take a long time before you finally finish it. Aubry Mintz started his journey at Sheridan College in Canada and began with a film idea that he has finally completed called "Nothing to Say".

The film is a 9 minute animated story about a turtle in a zoo who does not make a sound. There's a lot more to this film to talk about without spoiling anything. Take a listen to this interview to hear what Mintz has to say and learn what it takes to make a film without giving up on it completely.

There is a part 2 to this interview which will be coming out soon about the 24 hour animation contest which Aubry Mintz started many years ago.

Congrats to Woodbury class of 2019!

Last weekend, Woodbury University said goodbye to the Senior class of 2019 at the annual graduation. The night before, the Animation screening was shown.

I am always amazed to see the students work that come out of 4 years of learning animation. I remember when I met them as Freshmen, got to know them during the 24 hour animation contest or in later classes and throughout the 4 years of their education. And its sad to see them go, but I know I will see them again or their work in the future.
Congrats WU Animation class of 2019!

Here are a few of the films that were show.

Add your film to this post by contacting heyjimr@gmail and sending me a link to your film.
